Jungle Trekking

Are you ready to get lost in the Amazon Jungle?! Strap your hiking shoes, put on your mosquito protection and fit with your camera. Your guide, native Peruvian, is sufficiently equipped with his machete and his seven-year living-in-the-jungle-experience.

The tour will start right at Suisui Center – Ayahuasca Insights. Leaving the area in the back, you will follow firstly the open camino. Flowers, trees, birds, bubble levels, butterflies, spiders and grass decorate your way. See, how beautiful these branches depict gate entrances to the jungle. The sun shines through every corner possible, making the leaves sparkling. Huge palm trees and a tarn-alike area stand out. If there is anything to have a closer look at or to taste with one of your senses the guide will let you know. For example have you ever smelled the fresh uña de gato (kind of bark) directly from the tree? Or taken time to notice the very small things in life: Ant colonies that tiny to be overseen easily but that diligent to arise wondrousness. Wherever they scurry they are working. Following own streets each ant is carrying a leave at least seven times its size. As you move forwards the jungle gets thicker. Single sunbeams make their way through and looped-in-themselves-branches still create you natural archway. To take the most out of your adventure it is important to follow your guide carefully. Suddenly, he might stop. Do not question behavior in that very moment but succeed. He might have seen something to hold distance to, to approach sensibly, to sneak up… Likely, after an abrupt stop he suddenly begins to run, jumping over puddles and pushing plants that block the route apart. Just follow. This time, he has seen a monkey. If you were fast enough, you could witness it. As you keep moving onwards you will find yourself lost amongst the very Peruvian bosque. Long ago you left the open path behind. There is jungle in front of you, behind you, to your right and to your left. Which direction to take now?! – rely on your guide. With his machete he will bushwhack. You need to cross puddles and vacate waterholes. Can you feel this mystical atmosphere?! Wide, old looped branches hanging in your wary. Lianas swinging in from high above. How old must they be?! Underneath your feet are splashing mud or cracking branches. Sneaking through, bending down or surfacing will be your way of walking. Adventure at its deepest. Each corner seems too similar to find your way out but too different to stop exploring. All accompanied by a unique concert of crickets, birds and many more nature sounds.
In that tour you are not only a visitor of the jungle but rathermore a real adventurer. After instruction by the guide you will be responsible to free the way for the group through the bosque with the machete. Even though cobbing looks easy finding the right angle of the cut might need some practice. During the whole time the guide keeps on introducing you to the plants and its fruits or beneficial use.
Eventually, the guide will lead you back to the main path to return safely to the Suisui Lodge. Promised, your adventure heart will be filled with amazement, nature sounds, explorer-spirit, fruit tastes and knowledge of plants. Probably you might carry a tangible memory like a certain kind of wood, bark or flower with you.
